Network Security
The security of any system is only as strong as its weakest link, which is why we at OpenIP recommend the Layered Approach to network security. Every component of the network needs to play its part in enforcing security, including routers, switches, desktops and servers.
The Layered Approach to network security

Your router is one of the best places in your network to enforce security, as it is at the edge, so anything stopped by your router will not be able to pose any threat to the rest of your network. Cisco's range of Integrated Security Routers [ISRs] can perform several functions in one box, for which competing solutions require several pieces of equipment. This allows you to reduce costs, complexity and your carbon footprint in one fell swoop. One of the Cisco ISRs key features is an integrated Intrustion Prevention System [IPS] module. This does a lot more than an ordinary firewall: it actually looks inside the payload of network traffic for malicious content. If any is discovered, it will immediately block and drop the content, protecting your network proactively.
Cisco ISRs can also interface with just about any internet connection available today, including ADSL, SDSL, Cable, 3G, ISDN and WiFi. Private circuits such as IPClear MPLS and LES from BT, SureStream from Easynet and many other enterprise-grade WAN links also present no problem to the Cisco ISR, due to its modular architecture, which allows you to upgrade and replace parts individually, increasing your return on investment and reducing landfill.
Your switch is what links your desktops, servers, phones, firewalls and routers together, so again is an ideal place to enforce security policy. An advanced, intelligent switch from Cisco, for example, can identify an infected desktop and cut it off completely, stopping it from posing a threat to anything else on your network, and minimising the impact of a virus infection.
Computer Security
Laptops, desktops and servers all have unique needs, and thankfully Trend Micro have a solution for all of them. Trend's server solution manages the updates to anti-virus signatures, and passes them out to the clients. The client security agent accepts the updates, protects PCs and Laptops from viruses and other threats, and also proactively scans the system for viruses on a scheduled basis.Messaging Security
Leveraging the power and flexibility of recognised industry leader Trend Micro's messaging security expertise, OpenIP will work with you to create a customised messaging security solution that fits the needs of your business perfectly.
These proven products reduce the risks to business continuity, employee productivity and data security while minimizing impact on messaging systems and staff.
